Good: 

Very nice condition.  Most casual observers would describe the car as excellent; has very little wear and driven sparingly, though dependable and ready for a x-country trip.

Fair:

Presentable.  Runs and drives and will pass safety inspection.  Generally in need – or approaching the need for cosmetic restoration.

Poor:

In need of major repair or a basket case.  Bring the tow truck and have your tools ready!
